Does GetSweaty.com collect information from visitors?

At GetSweaty.com our goal is to create a “safe’ website that kids, parents and teachers can enjoy without having to provide any personal identifiable information and to collect no more information of any kind than the bare minimum needed.  “Personally identifiable information” is information that could be used to contact you directly, such as your first and last name or your email address.  “Non-personally identifiable information” is information that can’t be used to identify you, such as a screen name that you create, a date of birth, a city, state and/or zip code.

All activities on GetSweaty.com can be enjoyed without any need to disclose personally identifiable information.  Initially they will complete their “Profile Page” where they can choose an avatar for identification, enter their date of birth, their zip code and their personal fitness goals.  In order to complete this process they are asked to register using a screen name that they have created and their information will be saved under that screen name.   The”Junkyard” section of our site allows visitors to participate in interactive fitness and “daily do’s”.   Each daily Junkyard workout requires the visitor to complete a series of physical activities and while they are participating, a completion bar follows them at the bottom of their screen.

The only time we would need to collect personally identifiable information is when a visitor chooses to participate in a challenge or contest or receive an electronic newsletter, or if you are a teacher seeking to download pdf files for educational purposes.  When you contact us through GetSweaty.com we will ask you for your email address which will be strictly used for our own internal purposes and will allow our Customer Service Department to respond to any questions or concerns you may have regarding the GetSweaty.com website.  Your email address will not be added to any list or provided to any third party for any reason whatsoever.

Does GetSweaty.com use cookies to identify individual users online?

No, Getsweaty.com does not use cookies to identify individual users online.  Cookies are files that web servers place on a user’s hard drive to store information.  We do not utilize cookies to collect or store any information about individual users on the GetSweaty.com website.

How does GetSweaty.com use the information it collects?
GetSweaty.com does not use information for any other purpose than the one that we disclose to you when we collect it.  Most importantly, we will never provide that information to a third party unless you provide us with specific permission to do so, or unless we are required by law.  An example of this would be to comply with a court order or subpoena, to enforce our site rules or to protect the safety and security of our users and our website.

What is the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)?
