Healthy Eating

Quick tips for healthy eating

Try Something new once a week
Ask Mom to buy something new or try something you thought you didn't like
each week. You may not like everything but you might discover a new favorite food.
The more foods you like, the easier it is to eat well, enjoy and stay fit.

Try Mustard instead of mayonnaise on your sandwiches
There are so many different kinds of mustard to try. It’s low calorie, fat free
and delicious! Mayo has tons of fat and calories.

Stop the pop!
We know you love the sweet taste of a nice cold soda but whether you 're a
kid or an adult, it's not a great choice. Soda has way too much sugar and calories
and no nutrition. Next time you're thirsty, reach for water, milk or juice.
You've got lots of refreshing alternatives!

Lemons & Limes
Lemons and limes make food taste great and look pretty. Squeeze some
on your chicken and veggies. Put them in your water. Don't forget to take out the seeds!

Eat Breakfast
Mom and dad are right: breakfast really is the most important meal of the day.
But you don't have to eat eggs or cereal if you don't like them. What would you
like to eat for breakfast? Ask your parents if it is okay with them.

Help your parents cook

Talk to Mom or Dad about cooking with them once in awhile. Ask them to
show you how to grill, steam, broil and roast. These are the easy ways to cook
delicious and healthy foods.
