The Power of Sweat

What exactly is a healthy body?

Physical fitness is a lot more than building muscles. It’s making sure your heart, blood vessels, lungs, and muscles all work together properly. When you GetSweaty with us, we’ll tell you what each Daily Sweat will accomplish. Look for things like:

  • Agility - Your ability to change your body's position comfortably.

  • Balance - Your eyes, muscles and joints work together to keep you stable. It you didn’t
have good balance, you’d fall over in the lunch line.

  • Reflexes - A reflex move happens without even thinking about it. Our bodies  just react.
Like when someone tickles your foot…you can’t help but laugh.

  • Cardiovascular endurance - Your heart is the most important and hardworking muscle
in your body. It needs to be exercised, too! You’ve probably heard the term aerobic
exercise. Think running, jogging and jumping rope. This is exercise that brings oxygen
to your heart and makes it stronger and healthier.

  • Coordination - Muscles and limbs work together with your brain to help you accomplish
every day tasks like pouring your milk or grabbing a pencil.

  • Flexibility - Did you ever see someone kick their leg really high or touch their hands
to the floor? That’s being flexible. You can increase your flexibility over time by
stretching. The more flexible you are, the less likely you’ll get hurt playing sports,
doing every day activities or while Getting Sweaty.

  • Endurance - How long can you run or jog or jump rope? That’s how you measure
your endurance or the ability to exert yourself for a period of time.
